Frequently Asked Questions
Doesn’t my car already show what I need?
Modern car manufacturers don’t want you to see the real data from your cars sensors, that would mean you might have
questions that they don’t want to answer. Your dash gauges are glorified warning lights, in the form of a number or needle, they filter the data so you don’t get worried when it looks different than you might think it should. We show you the truth.
My car is brand new, what about my warranty?
Our gauge is made for the newest cars, many of our customers buy the gauge even before their car is delivered. You bought a new car, you don’t want to lose that new car warranty. The P3 gauge plugs into the OBD port and acts like a diagnostics reader to get it’s data, and can install/un-install without any permanent modifications to your car.
I’m not a car nerd, how difficult is it to use and set up?
Ready to go out of the box, just plug it in and start your engine. Our advanced software is custom tailored to your engine profile, scanning your car for the data points that we know you’ll want to see. We even offer the ability to hide modes you don’t want, as well as add extra add-on sensors that maybe your car didn’t have from the factory.
How do you keep it high quality?
Every unit reflects the care and focus of those who still believe in doing things properly. Built to order. Hand-assembled. We design, develop, and check every product under one roof. It’s the only way to ensure each detail lives up to our standards, and yours.
What kind of data can it show me?
Real-time access to everything you want to know... Boost, Engine Temps, Performance Timers, Code Reading/Clearing, and more with one simple connection to your OBD port. If you wish to add additional sensors, or not use OBD at all, advanced tuners can use analogue inputs or even run in "analogue only" mode.
Stylish and smart? What’s the catch?
No catch. At P3, we believe performance and style shouldn’t be compromised. Our customers also understand that form and function aren’t mutually exclusive. If you don’t want to spoil the clean lines of your interior, we’re your only option.
How hard is it to install a P3 Gauge and how long does it take?
Most installs take 5–30 minutes, depending on your skill level and vehicle.
Will modifications or tuning affect my readings?
Standard modifications and ECU re-flashes typically do not affect accuracy. Piggy-back style tuners may alter readings, which would require optional analog sensors.
Can the P3 Gauge display both English and Metric units?
Yes. You can configure units to English, Metric, or a mix of both, with selections for PSI/inHg, BAR, Celsius, Fahrenheit, MPH and KPH.
Do I need extra parts to install a P3 Gauge?
In most vehicles, no additional parts are required. Certain readings that are not provided by the ECU may require our optional analogue sensor kit, depending on the data you want to monitor.
Will installing it in the vent affect heating or A/C?
The P3 Gauge is engineered to retain airflow through your vent, so heating and A/C performance are not affected. Each gauge is designed for its specific vehicle to ensure vent operation is not compromised.
Can the P3 Gauge handle extreme temperatures?
Yes. We have tested our gauges from extreme cold to heat well beyond typical in-car conditions, including scenarios hot enough to soften or melt plastics, and they continued to function without failure
